Advisory engagements
Our Engagements

Three Engagements, Each with a Distinct Question

We offer three scoped advisory engagements. Each one addresses a specific kind of workforce question. Each one ends with a written document. None of them is a general consulting retainer.

Our Method

How We Approach Every Engagement

Before any advisory session, we read. We ask for the documents that describe your current workforce — org charts, role descriptions, recent hiring records, any workforce data you hold — and we study them before forming an opinion.

The sessions themselves are conversations, not presentations. We ask questions, we follow threads, we sit with ambiguity rather than rush to a tidy conclusion. The written output that follows is a record of the thinking, not a sales document for further engagement.

Every engagement closes with one round of clarification, included in the fee. If the document raises further questions that warrant a new engagement, we will say so, and we will propose something appropriately scoped.

01

Initial Scoping Conversation

We discuss the question, confirm the engagement type, and agree the document format and timeline.

02

Document and Data Review

We study the materials you share before arriving at any advisory session. Observation precedes opinion.

03

Advisory Sessions

Structured conversations with the relevant stakeholders. Questions, threads, and considered discussion rather than prepared presentations.

04

Written Deliverable

The engagement output — a talent posture note, a workforce paper, or a hiring handbook — delivered within the agreed timeline.

05

Clarification Session

One round of discussion after delivery, included in the engagement fee. Questions answered, document understood, engagement closed.

Engagement 01

Talent Posture Conversation

RM 820 · 2–3 Weeks

A short advisory engagement for organisations contemplating the shape of their technology workforce over the coming two to three years. We examine the present composition — permanent, contract, vendor-supplied, offshore — and weigh it against the work the organisation expects to undertake.

The output is a written talent posture note with a small set of considered observations on hiring pace, role design, and the quieter craft of retention. Suited for technology leadership and HR working together.

What the Engagement Includes

Review of current workforce composition data and org materials
One advisory session with technology leadership and HR
Written talent posture note (8–12 pages)
Observations on hiring pace, role design, and retention
One clarification session after delivery

Best Suited For

Organisations approaching a new product phase, a funding round, or a leadership transition, and needing a clear-eyed view of whether the current workforce composition is well-positioned for what lies ahead.

Engagement 02

Engineering Workforce Advisory

RM 2,650 · 5–7 Weeks

A longer engagement that examines the engineering workforce as a portfolio — its seniority distribution, its specialism coverage, its tenure pattern, its hiring history. We weigh the portfolio against the present roadmap and against the realities of the Malaysian engineering market, including the meaningful cross-border draw of Singapore.

The output is a written workforce paper with a sequenced recommendation on hiring, internal development, and quiet succession. Suited for engineering leadership preparing a multi-year people investment.

What the Engagement Includes

Full engineering workforce data analysis (seniority, specialism, tenure, hiring history)
Malaysian engineering market context and cross-border analysis
Two advisory sessions with engineering and HR leadership
Written workforce paper (20–30 pages) with sequenced recommendations
Succession and internal development observations
One clarification session after delivery

Best Suited For

Engineering organisations preparing a two-to-three-year workforce investment — those wanting to understand whether the current team composition will carry the roadmap, and where the gaps and risks lie.

Engagement 03

Hiring Practice Workshop

RM 1,050 · Two Days

A two-day workshop with the hiring managers and the recruitment partners who support them, examining the present hiring practice from job brief through to onboarding. Together we read recent hiring records, identify where the practice has served the organisation well and where it has quietly drifted.

We write a small set of working agreements covering interview structure, decision-making, and offer conduct. The workshop closes with a written hiring handbook the team may circulate to its line managers.

What the Engagement Includes

One week of pre-workshop hiring records review
Two-day facilitated workshop at client premises
Review of job briefs, interview processes, and decision-making patterns
Working agreements written together with the team
Written hiring handbook (15–20 pages) for line manager circulation

Best Suited For

Organisations where hiring practice has grown informally across managers and needs to be examined, made explicit, and agreed as a shared standard — particularly before a significant hiring programme begins.
